Serving quality seafood for over 53 years
Serving quality seafood for over 53 years
In 1972, George and Joan Hines, along with sons Donald and Ronald, purchased the Dixie Queen, a local sandwich shop, as a move to diversify the family source of income. The Hines family were farmers as well as operators of a corn mill. In 1975, the Dixie Queen shifted to exclusively serving seafood and hasn't looked back since. There's been a lot of changes in the last 53 years, but we strive to buy the best quality seafood available. As George Hines used to say, "good seafood isn't cheap and cheap seafood isn't good". George and Donald both passed away in 2014, but the restaurant is now being run by Ronald and his son Jacob. During the COVID pandemic, seafood prices skyrocketed, but we strive to maintain the same standards that made our restaurant so popular. We will be celebrating our 54th year of business on April 12th of 2026 and we have enjoyed feeding the many good folks of Eastern North Carolina.
We are now accepting reservations any night we are open. To schedule your next event out here, you can message us on Facebook or give us a call and ask for Bella!
